Critical Home Restoration to Ensure Safety and Wellbeing – October 2025
In October 2025, we were alerted to the situation of an elderly couple with no source of income living in a village near Malerkotla, Punjab. Their home was in a severely deteriorated condition and in urgent need of repair.
Following our own assessment, we found the house to be unsafe, with a leaking roof, damaged and unplastered walls, and no doors fitted to the toilet and bathroom. We were advised that any delay could result in a roof collapse, posing a serious risk of severe injury or potentially fatal consequences.
As part of our commitment as a Health & Education charity, we provided financial support to purchase essential building materials and carried out critical repairs. This included roof repairs, new wall plastering, and the construction of new staircases, restoring safety, stability, and basic living dignity to the home.
This timely intervention helped protect the wellbeing of the elderly couple, significantly improved their living conditions, and reflects our dedication to responding swiftly when poor housing poses a direct threat to health and safety.
